Kelvex Heating & Air

Commercial HVAC services

Everything below is work we do ourselves on light-commercial equipment across the north Denver metro. If a job falls outside what we do well, we'll tell you and point you somewhere better.

Rooftop units (RTUs)

Packaged gas/electric and heat pump units, roughly two to twenty-five tons — the workhorses on top of nearly every strip mall and restaurant on the Front Range.

  • Cooling diagnostics: superheat and subcooling, refrigerant charge verification, leak search
  • Compressors, condenser and evaporator fan motors, contactors and capacitors
  • Gas heat: ignition controls, gas valves, flame sensors, rollout and limit switches, heat exchanger inspection
  • Economizers, dampers, actuators and linkages
  • Belts, sheaves, bearings and blower assemblies
  • Control and safety circuits, transformers, thermostats and sensors
  • Condensate drains, pans and traps

Evaporative coolers

Swamp coolers make sense in Colorado's dry air and there are thousands of them on commercial roofs here. They also get ignored until they flood or quit.

  • Recirculation pump replacement and water circuit repair
  • Rigid media replacement, correctly sized to the rack depth
  • Sump cleaning, sediment removal and drain service
  • Float and fill valve replacement, water level setting
  • Distribution header and spider tube service
  • Fall winterization — draining and blow-down to prevent freeze damage
  • Dump valve installation where a unit has no way to drain

Split systems and light refrigeration

  • Ductless mini-split service and diagnostics
  • Condenser and air handler repair
  • Refrigerant recovery, evacuation and charging — EPA 608 certified
  • Walk-in cooler and reach-in troubleshooting on a case-by-case basis

Preventative maintenance

Scheduled service with a written record. Every unit gets inspected against the same checklist every visit, so you can see what changed instead of guessing.

Residential service

Same technician, same standards, for homes across the service area.

  • Furnace service, repair and replacement
  • Air conditioner and heat pump service, repair and replacement
  • Evaporative cooler service and seasonal start-up or shutdown
  • Ductless mini-split installation and service
  • Thermostat replacement and smart thermostat setup
  • Seasonal tune-ups and safety inspections
  • Second opinions on replacement quotes

What we don't do

Being clear about this saves everyone time:

  • Large industrial plants, chillers, and central plant work
  • New construction bidding and ground-up mechanical projects
  • Full ductwork design and fabrication
  • Plumbing beyond the equipment connection, and electrical beyond the unit disconnect

For work past the equipment — building drains, panel work, roofing — we'll tell you what you need and, where we can, who to call.
